Travel tips starting from viale Doria in Milan
In Milan, the metropolis of northern Italy and a hub for business, you can reach many tourist destinations in a few hours that you will find easily by taking the reference motorways in the immediate vicinity of our office in via Doria. Before leaving the city, we suggest some typically Milanese places.
Milan will amaze you even in summer with its numerous parks, a favourite destination for citizens for daily jogging and weekend picnics.
In the heart of the city, we find Parco Sempione, a large green area equipped with various bars, a library and outdoor sports equipment, bordering the Triennale Museum and the majestic Sforzesco Castle.
Also in the centre, you can visit the famous Indro Montanelli Gardens, named as such because the famous journalist took long walks. The most popular entrance is from the famous Porta Venezia. Here you can visit the very interesting Civic Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium, a frequent venue for scientific events.
Not far away, on another side of the same park, we find ourselves in via Palestro where the GAM, the gallery of Modern Art, is located. This is an imposing estate dating back to 1700, which houses numerous Italian sculptures and works of art, but also some of the most famous paintings by Cézanne and Gauguin.
The fashion district
You are in the middle of the city, the heart of Milanese business, but absolutely immersed in the Milan of shopping and luxury, a few steps and you will reach the fashion district between via Manzoni, via del Gesù and the famous via Montenapoleone: take a tour and you will understand why this city has always been considered the capital of the fashion system!
The surroundings of Milan
Do you want to get out of the city and dedicate yourself to relaxation? You just have to choose what is right for you, lakes, mountains or places of art and culture, you will be spoiled for choice.
Breathtaking glimpses and views, villages suspended in time and a taste of history and centuries-old traditions that will accompany you throughout your journey: take the Autostrada dei Laghi, an already prophetic name, and you will reach the major lakeside locations near Milan, Como, Lecco and Stresa ... just to name a few, and from here get lost along the lakeside. It will be an emotion to be surprised by what you will encounter!
The mountainous areas
If you are fond of the mountains, you can reach any ski resort you want quite quickly. The breath choking view of the snow-capped peaks will always be enchanting as well as the typical mountain cuisine: we recommend that you try the polenta and the pizzoccheri before leaving. Moreover, if you head to Val Malenco, in Bormio or Livigno you will certainly not be disappointed.
The beauty of the places, the variety of slopes, the hospitality of the chalets, are combined with the inhabitants' hospitality and unforgettable gastronomy.
Art and culture
Lastly, those seeking art and culture should plan a route dedicated to the several historic villas.
We suggest starting from Villa Necchi Campiglio in the city centre, a dip in the 30s of rare beauty, continuing to the eighteenth-century Villa Arconati and visiting the sixteenth-century Villa della Porta Bozzolo in the Varese area and the Renaissance jewel Villa Cicogna-Mozzoni: you will live in the first person the glories of the epoch and of the epical Lombard times.
If you still have energy left then go for the fun! You will find many theme parks, for those who love animals we suggest the Le Cornelle park and the Safari Park.
Lastly, how can you miss the Monza racetrack? The famous racetrack hosts the Formula 1 Grand Prix every September and, since the 18th century, the splendid Reggia di Monza and its park. They must absolutely not be missed!
